Greg Shaw named Vice-President of Human Resources and Organizational

TORONTO, July 28 /CNW/ - Respected human resources professional Greg Shaw has been retained as Vice-President of Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness for Humber River Regional Hospital, effective August 9, 2010.
Mr. Shaw is the former Vice-President, Strategic Human Resources Management Services, for the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA). In that role he was responsible for strategic human resources planning for the hospital sector in Ontario, including collective bargaining for $6 billion of payroll with six major trade unions. He also had oversight of provincial benefit plans, occupational health and safety services, the creation of a leadership development institute, and professional practice matters including physicians, patient safety and clinical best practices.
A Certified Human Resources Professional and alumnus of the Ivey School of Business, his proven leadership and open, consultative style are recognized throughout Ontario. He has consulted widely in both the hospital and private sectors on matters of human resources and labour relations, and is often utilized as a Management Nominee on Arbitration Boards. He is a former trustee of the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan, a Member of the Board for Booth Centennial Hospital Services, and a former Chair of the Alzheimer Society of Toronto. He is currently enrolled in the Institute for Corporate Directors program through the Rotman School of Business.
Shaw will provide leadership on a comprehensive employee and organizational development program critical to Humber's mission, vision, values, culture and strategic priorities. He will direct such key issues as succession planning, superior workforce development and key employee retention.
