Greyhound launches mobile site for smartphone users

BURLINGTON, Ontario, May 8, 2014 /CNW/ - Continuing its commitment of providing a convenient, hassle-free experience, Greyhound Canada has launched a new mobile website for smartphone users, making it easier for customers to purchase tickets on the go.

Customers can now seamlessly book their travel by visiting www.greyhound.ca from their mobile phones and get access to thousands of daily schedules throughout Canada with fares starting as low as $1. Customers can also schedule trips on Greyhound Express via the mobile site and enjoy non-stop travel on new buses with amenities that include, free Wi-Fi, power outlets, reclining leather seats, extra legroom and guaranteed seating.

"Smartphones are becoming consumers' go-to method for email, social media, as well as searching and purchasing goods and services," said Chris Boult, Chief Information Officer, Greyhound Lines. "We wanted to meet our customers where they were and provide them with a phenomenal travel experience that begins as soon as they log on to purchase tickets."

With the mobile site, customers are still able to select the Print at Home option, allowing for flexibility when planning for travel. If a customer selects this option, the mobile site also allows customers the option of making their purchase using Interac Online, which is a tool that customers can use to easily pay for purchases, directly from their bank account. To use Interac Online, customers simply need access to online banking through a participating financial institution and they can immediately and securely book their travel on the Greyhound Canada mobile site.
