Canadian Cancer Society launches new youth volunteer recruitment campaign in Ontario
So, what's the deal with this new campaign?
To reach a younger audience these days, you need to speak their language. "We want to keep it real with the youth of today," says
The content on my40hours.ca has been developed specifically for the youth audience. The site includes a quirky quiz, the results of which will help to suggest a volunteer opportunity that may align with how a teen feels about his or her 40 hours.
Yasaman Meshkat, a 17-year-old from Markham has used the site to locate information on volunteer opportunities.
"My40hours.ca is a great place for students to start when they are thinking about fulfilling their 40 hours. The site is so convenient, without having to get up off your chair you can quickly sign up to become a volunteer," she says.
The Society invites high school students, guidance counsellors, teachers and parents to check out the site today by visiting www.my40hours.ca.
