Growers can reap the benefits of a faster harvest and cleaner field with HEAT® LQ
Pre-harvest herbicide from BASF is recommended for field peas, soybeans, dry beans, sunflowers and canola.
MISSISSAUGA, ON, July 15, 2015 /CNW/ - Harvest is quickly approaching and BASF recommends a pre-harvest application of HEAT® LQ herbicide for a faster harvest and cleaner fields.
HEAT LQ is registered for pre-harvest applications on field peas, soybeans, dry beans, sunflowers and canola.
"When applied pre-harvest, HEAT LQ tank-mixed with glyphosate gives growers a fast and complete burndown of both crops and broadleaf weeds to improve harvest and keep fields cleaner for the following season," said Danielle Eastman, Brand Manager, Western Herbicides and Clearfield at BASF Canada. "Applying HEAT LQ can help speed up crop dry down and can help growers manage workload during a busy time."
BASF recommends that growers follow label rates and recommendations for timing in order to maximize use of the product.
- Field peas – when greater than two thirds of the pods are dry and brown.
- Canola – to help facilitate straight cutting canola, apply when 60 to 75 percent of seeds have changed colour.
- Soybeans – at 80 to 90 percent leaf drop.
- Dry Beans – when 90 percent of the pods have changed colour, and 80 to 90 percent leaf drop.
- Sunflowers – when the back of the heads have started to turn yellow.
"BASF is committed to working with Canadian growers to provide the best solutions and maintain the high standards of Canadian agriculture," said Eastman.
