Dunnville, Ontario facility takes important step forward
TORONTO, July 3, 2018 /CNW/ - GrowForce Holdings Inc., a vertically integrated cannabis platform based in Canada, is pleased to announce a major milestone with the receipt of the Confirmation of Readiness from Health Canada for a licence under the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations (ACMPR) for the company's majority owned subsidiary, Grand River Organics (GRO). This represents acceptance of GRO's detailed application.
Located in Dunnville, Ontario, phase one construction of GRO's 10,800-square foot indoor growing facility is underway and will be completed in September 2018. There is additional capacity available onsite in excess of 40,000-square feet for future phasing. The well-capitalized company intends for GRO's facility to be recognized as a craft grower of premium cannabis in the Niagara Peninsula.
"We are thrilled to have achieved this significant milestone in the process," said James Lowe, GrowForce Executive Vice President of Operations. "The team has worked diligently to surpass all of Health Canada's requirements and we are optimistically preparing the Evidence of Readiness package to continue the progression."
GRO's next milestone will be to receive a Cultivation Licence, allowing it to begin growing cannabis. This will be achieved once construction is finished, followed by a Sales Licence after the first two successful harvests.
GRO is one of several facilities recently purchased by GrowForce. In addition to GRO, it owns WILL Cannabis Group, an AMCPR-licensed facility in Brampton, Ontario, as well as a 120,000 square foot facility in Winnipeg that is currently being converted into a flagship production facility. Last month, the company announced a joint venture with Peguis First Nation in Manitoba to explore additional production and retail distribution opportunities.
