TORONTO, Nov. 12, 2014 /CNW/ - The Tourism Industry Association of Ontario (TIAO) is honoured to host the tenth annual Ontario Tourism Summit and Ontario Tourism Awards of Excellence on Nov. 12 and 13.
As the premier forum for Ontario's vast tourism industry, the Ontario Tourism Summit gives business owners, destination marketers and regional tourism organizations the opportunity to learn the latest trends, network with colleagues, and share new ideas and best practices.
The Summit welcomes 500 tourism leaders from across the province, and features keynote speakers from Ontario's Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation (OTMPC), Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (MLSE), and Music Canada, to name a few.
Held at Blue Mountain Resort in The Blue Mountains — Ontario's largest ski area — Summit attendees are invited to take in the beauty of the Niagara Escarpment and Georgian Bay as they indulge in expert panels and sessions focused on how the tourism industry can continue to grow and evolve as an economic driver and job creator for Ontario.
"Attending the Ontario Tourism Summit gives industry leaders access to new trends and research, marketing, social media and more," said TIAO President and CEO Beth Potter. "This year's "Growing Tourism In Ontario — Together. Today. Tomorrow." theme highlights the importance of collaboration and alignment within the industry and with government in order to grow the industry's contribution to the provincial economy."
The Tourism Industry Association of Ontario is recognized as the umbrella organization for leading associations, destination marketing organizations and regional tourism organizations serving Ontario's diverse tourism industry. Collectively representing 149,000 businesses and 305,000 employees dedicated to promoting and operating the province's powerful tourism infrastructure, TIAO provides a strong, unified voice for the sector and advocates the importance of tourism to all levels of government in order to help the industry grow and prosper.
