Gurpreet Dhillon nominated as NDP Candidate in Brampton-Springdale
NDP Leader Andrea Horwath thanks outgoing Liberal Minister Linda Jeffries for years of service.
BRAMPTON, ON, March 23, 2014 /CNW/ - New Democrat Leader Andrea Horwath says Gurpreet Dhillon is offering exactly the sort of leadership and energy Brampton needs and congratulated him on winning the Ontario NDP nomination for Brampton-Springdale. The NDP Leader also thanked outgoing Liberal MPP Linda Jeffrey for her years of service on learning of her resignation today.
"Gurpreet Dhillon is offering the sort of new energy and new ideas we need to see in Ontario," said Horwath. "He would make an incredible addition to our New Democrat team and work hard to deliver results whether it's lowering auto insurance rates or improving our healthcare system so it's there when we need it. He will be a real voice for Brampton at Queen's Park."
Dhillon secured the NDP nomination for Brampton-Springdale today. A community leader and business analyst, Dhillon has worked hard to promote his community and work with youth.
Horwath also thanked Linda Jeffrey for her years of service as an MPP at Queen's Park. "Linda Jeffrey and I sat on different sides of the Legislature and we didn't always agree, but I respect the hard work she did for her constituents. Being an MPP isn't always easy and anyone who steps forward and does the work deserves our respect and our thanks."
