Habitat for Humanity Greater Toronto Area celebrates the groundbreaking on its third home in the town of East Gwillimbury
EAST GWILLIMBURY, ON, May 25, 2015 /CNW/ - Habitat for Humanity Greater Toronto Area (Habitat GTA) will celebrate the beginning of their Walker Road build project with a Ribbon-cutting Ceremony on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. With generous support from the Title Home Sponsor, the Building Industry and Land Development Association (BILD), this single-family, fully-accessible home will be the third in this region and eventually home to the Cernanec Family.
"This Ribbon-cutting Ceremony marks the beginning of the homeownership journey and is definitely an unforgettable occasion," says Richard Solomon, Regional Vice President, Habitat GTA York Region. "We are delighted to share this landmark moment with the Cernanec family, community members, sponsors, donors and volunteers."
The Town's Mayor, Virginia Hackson, says, "East Gwillimbury is a great place to live and raise a family, a place with a strong sense of belonging. We value engagement and partnership, and this project is a wonderful opportunity for our citizens not only to help build a home but to help build their community."

About Habitat GTA in York Region
Led by a group of very dedicated volunteers, Habitat for Humanity York Region (Habitat York) was started in 2001 as a local grassroots organization. The legacy affiliate built an average of 1-2 homes per year. In 2007, the organization built two single-family homes in the Town of East Gwillimbury. Habitat for Humanity GTA is very pleased to announce that the organization is building four new homes in 2015 within York Region.
