SEPT-ÎLES, QC, July 18, 2018 /CNW/ - The official opening of the Habitation des Îles housing project took place today, in Sept-Îles. The 60-unit affordable housing project for seniors was built under the AccèsLogis Québec program of the Société d'habitation du Québec (SHQ). The total investment for this project was more than $11 million.
Habitation des Îles is intended to provide a quiet and safe environment. Tenants can benefit from a range of services nearby, and the building has a community room that can be used to hold various activities.
The opening was held in the presence of Stéphane Lauzon, Member of Parliament for Argenteuil–La Petite-Nation, on behalf of the Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development and Minister Responsible for Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation; Lise Thériault, Minister responsible for Consumer Protection and for Housing and Minister responsible for the Lanaudière region; and Guylaine Lejeune, Deputy Mayor of Sept-Îles.
