MONTREAL, Aug. 27, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Mosaïcultures Internationales de Montréal 2013 (MIM2013) is proud to announce that it has welcomed its 500,000th visitor. Between Friday, August 23rd and Sunday August 25th, close to 50,000 visitors entered the site, bringing the total to a half a million since the event opened in June. This past weekend broke the record in terms of visitor traffic. Given this positive response from the public, we can confirm that the event stands out as a top tourist attraction for the summer of 2013.
According to an in-house survey conducted at the Qatar Airways International Carrefour, most visitors come from outside of Montreal. In fact, 61 % come from various regions of Quebec other than the Montreal region, and 6 % live outside of Canada. Also, 82 % of tourists declared that MIM2013 was one of the main reasons that motivated their visit to Montreal.
Facilitate your visit: take the shuttle bus and reserve online!
It is strongly suggested to buy tickets electronically: espacepourlavie.ca/en/ticket-office. The Green-Certified Event's organizers recommend public transportation: a free shuttle bus from the Pie-IX metro station brings visitors to the gates of the Botanical Garden. To accommodate motorists, additional parking places are also available at the Régie des installations olympiques (RIO).
Ticket office open daily between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. but the site stays open until sunset, the fairy hour.
