Hardboot Inc. Releases Swyvel, New Innovative Project Management Platform
Latest cloud-based project collaboration tool, built by project managers, for project managers
TORONTO, April 23, 2013 /CNW/ - Today, Hardboot Inc., one of Canada's leading digital project management solutions and development companies, announced the launch of Swyvel, a platform designed for integrated project management on the cloud. The project management system, designed for projects managers by project managers, was developed out of Hardboot's own basic business need and the dissatisfaction with other tools currently in this market segment.
The Swyvel user experience is far more intuitive than other platforms. It is built for the business user so it can be easily adopted for everyone from the C level to the project management office; most other software platforms are only built for technologies. Its dashboard provides a 360 degree view of multiple products and includes ways to track profit and loss via time tracking against financials for any size project. Swyvel also replaces multiple platforms which allows managers to stay within one platform and therefore reduces the risk of lost data and assets.
"We have seen other products out there and feel this product is better aligned with the needs of professionals," said Jeffery Potvin, CEO, Hardboot Inc. "We wanted to create something truly customizable that could apply to several different variations of industry. Swyvel allows you to see all aspects of a project. It is simply like ripping the roof off a house and seeing what is happening in every room."
Jeffery Potvin, who held senior positions at Loblaws and Kaboose.com, is most notably known for his integral role in the online photo and video business launched at Kaboose.com, which was acquired by Disney for $18 million shortly after. As a Senior Manager at Loblaws Companies, Potvin developed and implemented several highly profitable lines of business including Photolab.ca, Flowermarkets.ca, PC Gift Cards and PC Gift Baskets. Potvin used his 15 years of interactive development, digital marketing and business development experience to create Swyvel, Hardboot Inc's first cloud business tool for project management.
Since its soft launch in November 2012, Sywvel has seen success in the retail, agency and media sectors. One of its earliest adopters was multinational mass media corporation AOL.com Canada. Still a client today, AOL.com Canada remains pleased with the seamless ease of implementation.
"The Swyvel team has been great to work with. We implemented the tool quickly and easily with a couple of short training sessions and the adoption rate has been high," said Paul Cramp, General Manager Male Audience, AOL.com Canada. "The Swyvel team was eager to get my team on board, available and open to comments and questions and responsive to requests for reasonable modifications. I'm a fan."
With new and enhanced features, Swyvel effectively drives predictable, profitable project delivery that decreases a team's email footprint and eliminates lengthy and costly follow up with team members. The Hardboot Inc. team designed, tested and drove the Swyvel system internally before commercializing and seeding it out to clients, who also had a chance to weigh in on features and modifications they would like to see implemented.
"The ideation period for Swyvel was lengthy and born out of our need for better customization and flexibility. The previous project management system we were using wasn't nimble enough" said Jeffery Potvin. "We knew what we needed, so Swyvel became Hardboot's side project. We began building the platform on a closed beta system, internally evaluating where we could make improvements, then launched it to clients and began user-testing."
The program's functionality and interface allows for project managers to stay on top of several different project touch points all within an accessible, easy-to-use dashboard. Project managers can invite different people with detailed permissions to each project which can help keep clients and third party managers abreast of developments and milestones while restricting full access to internal management modules, such as financials and budget tracking.
Each module on the dashboard allows the user to view an integral component of the project from recent activity, overdue items, on hold or archived projects, to deadlines, tasks and milestones. Swyvel's "People" function allows the user to track resources, user permissions, responsibilities, partner collaboration, service providers and developers. In addition, Swyvel shares project files securely through the cloud and is fully compatible with Dropbox and iCal for exporting calendar invites.
Swyvel is available internationally and can be implemented on a tiered scale based on company size. Drawing on a wealth of experience and insight, the Hardboot Inc. team built Swyvel to manage all cross-functional teams, big and small.
