Harrington Harbour - Chevery ferry service - Winter service interruption for the MV Mécatina II

QUEBEC CITY, Nov. 20, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - The Société des traversiers du Québec invites customers to ensure that all winter supplies that should be transported aboard the MV Mécatina II are shipped before Wednesday, December 23, 2015, the date on which the barge might be removed from service and dry-docked in Chevery for the rest of the winter.

However, in the event that winter conditions remain mild enough and therefore favourable to keep the barge in service, the MV Mécatina II may instead be removed from service at a later date, during the next high tides forecast to begin on January 9, 2016.

Until the ice bridge is opened on the Route Blanche between Harrington Harbour and Chevery, transportation of perishable goods will be ensured by Les Hélicoptères Canadiens inc.
