VANCOUVER, June 22, 2012 /CNW/ - On Monday, July 2nd, Hastings Racecourse will welcome back adopted hometown jockey sensation Mario Gutierrez as he returns to ride St Liam's Halo in the $50,000 Lieutenant Governor's Handicap.
A special live press conference will be held at Hastings Racecourse where Gutierrez will share and reflect on his recent racing-world accomplishments and experiences. A special unveiling of a permanent tribute to Mario will also take place during the press conference.

Monday's race card starts at 1:50pm. There is no admission at Hastings Racecourse so come and show Mario your support.
"We are hoping to have the largest crowd in our 123 year history on Monday" said Hastings General Manager, Raj Mutti. "Over 14,000 people came to support Mario following the unfortunate cancellation of the Belmont run for "I'll Have Another" due to injury. Now people will be able to come out and support Mario live up close and in person."
