Hatch Makes A Difference In The Oakville Community Using Silfab Solar Modules
OAKVILLE, Ontario, July 8, 2015 /CNW/ -- Silfab Solar has reached agreement with Hatch, a Canadian-owned and globally operating procurement and construction management (EPCM) firm, to supply Silfab Solar panels for a 500kW solar project at the New Oakville Hospital in Ontario, Canada.
Hatch and Halton Healthcare Services (HHS), which will operate and provide healthcare services at the new hospital, have a gifting agreement for Hatch's generous donation of a photovoltaic solar array system for the New Oakville Hospital, using 1,875 of Silfab Solar's 320Wp Monocrystalline high efficiency modules. This state-of-the-art solar system will aid in funding the Hospital Foundation through the Ontario Power Authority's Feed In-Tariff program.
Hatch will install the solar system before the hospital's planned opening in August 2015. This rooftop solar system has been designed by Hatch with best-in-class energy components and will be mounted on top of the New Oakville Hospital's parking garage.
Hatch's donation to the New Oakville Hospital is estimated to provide the Hospital Foundation with more than $5 million in revenue over the duration of 20 years.
"This project is definitely large scale when it comes to rooftop solar arrays and the HHS views it as a substantial gift," said Rob Lydan, director of solar energy at Hatch. "As an employee-owned company, this is really a gift from our employees to give back to our communities.
"Along with having a good previous relationship with Silfab Solar, we found that the design of their modules and their local manufacturing (Halton / Peel Region) footprint made them an appropriate solution provider for this project," said Lydan.
