Hawkair announces new Prince Rupert schedule
TERRACE, BC, June 18, 2014 /CNW/ - Hawkair is excited to be introducing a new flight schedule in Prince Rupert effective August 5th that involves overnighting an aircraft at the Prince Rupert Airport, and provides the community with a business day in Vancouver. The new flight schedule will have Hawkair guests depart the YPR airport at 08:00 and return from Vancouver with a 17:45 departure from YVR.
Hawkair has been serving Prince Rupert for 13 years. "While we've received numerous awards and positive feedback from the community for our customer service and friendly staff, we had heard we could do more with our schedule," said Hawkair's Director of Corporate Services, Jocelyn Lebell. Discussions with various community stakeholders have been on going since December which led to the community overwhelmingly requesting an earlier departure from Digby Island in the morning, with the ability to return from Vancouver later in the afternoon.
"In working with community stakeholders to provide better service, it reinforced why we're so proud to be part of the community." Said Lebell "Everyone comes together to support each other, we're making a great investment in the community and we're looking forward to the community enjoying the great new schedule"
