TORONTO, Feb. 28, 2012 /CNW/ - HBO Canada, a multiplex channel of Corus Entertainment's Movie Central (Western Canada) and Astral's The Movie Network (Eastern Canada), pulls back the curtain on the intense human drama surrounding John McCain's 2008 presidential run in the HBO Films Presentation, Game Change. Based on the bestselling book by Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, the film follows the McCain campaign trail from the selection of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as vice presidential running mate to their defeat in the general election. Game Change premieres Saturday, March 10 at 9 p.m. ET/MT on HBO Canada, day-and-date with HBO in the U.S.
Game Change stars Julianne Moore as Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, Woody Harrelson as McCain strategist Steve Schmidt and Ed Harris as Arizona Senator John McCain. Offering a unique glimpse into the inner workings of the historic campaign, the story is told through the eyes of Schmidt, the man who most championed Palin for the ticket. The film reveals the uncertainty surrounding the decisions made behind closed doors, and examines the chain of events that would determine the leadership of the country.
