HBO Canada Turns Up the Heat on August 17 With the Return of Cinemax's Action-Packed Series Strike Back
TORONTO, July 25, 2012 /CNW/ - HBO Canada, a multiplex channel of Corus Entertainment's Movie Central (Western Canada) and Astral's The Movie Network (Eastern Canada) presents Season 2 of Cinemax's high-octane, globe-spanning series, Strike Back. The 10-episode second season premieres with two back-to-back episodes on Friday, August 17 beginning at 11 p.m. ET/MT, following Real Time With Bill Maher. Subsequent episodes premiere Friday nights at 11 p.m. ET/MT on HBO Canada.
Starring Sullivan Stapleton as Sgt. Damien Scott, a disgraced Delta Forces operative who was discharged on the eve of the U.S. invasion of Iraq, and Philip Winchester as Sgt. Michael Stonebridge, a British sergeant in the stealth counterterrorism unit Section 20, Strike Back follows Section 20 as they span the globe to stop potential threats. Researched by the creators of the series and aided by consultants, the action-packed drama is rooted in the field of counter-terrorism and set against the backdrop of timely global issues, such as human and drug trafficking, conflict among nations, poverty, danger for international aid workers and child soldiers.
