OTTAWA, July 10, 2012 /CNW/ - Health Canada today released the July 2012 issue of the Canadian Adverse Reaction Newsletter (CARN).
This issue includes an article on LigaSure vessel sealing systems and reports of certain LigaSure surgical instruments sticking to tissue or clamping onto tissue but not releasing. LigaSure vessel sealing systems are used during surgery to seal small vessels (such as certain veins and arteries) and tissue, to stop or prevent bleeding.
It also includes the annual adverse reaction and incident reporting statistics for 2011, as well as a quarterly summary of communications to health professionals and the public.
