OTTAWA, May 6, 2014 /CNW/ - Health Canada today released the April 2014 issue of the Canadian Adverse Reaction Newsletter (CARN).
This issue features an article on the risk of a potentially life-threatening condition called drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms suspected of being associated with azithromycin, an antibiotic used to treat a variety of infections.
It also includes an article on quetiapine, a drug used to treat certain psychiatric disorders, and the risk of liver failure.
Finally, this edition contains an article on the potential risk of acquired hemophilia, a rare bleeding disorder, with the use of clopidogrel, a drug used to prevent blood clots.
