Health care: Let's stop going around in circles!

MONTREAL, March 10, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Quebecers are concerned about their health care. Collectively, we spend more than 11% of our GDP to provide health care.  There are countries that spend an equivalent amount however their health care systems are more effective and give their citizens a standard of care that is superior to ours.

The old parties will tell you that nothing can be done.  By voting for them, you know that you will continue to wait and to be dissatisfied; their solution is to continue to put air in a punctured tire.

Team Adrien Pouliot - Conservative Party of Quebec suggests that we stop going around in circles on health care.  Our program contains measures that will make Quebec a leader when it comes to accessibility to health care.

To resolve the lack of family doctors, we offer to:

• decompartmentalize medical practice, enabling a mix of practices for physicians;
• adjust the remuneration of doctors in hospitals;
• enable citizens to purchase private insurance.

To resolve long wait times in the case of emergencies and in other care situations, we offer to pay hospitals per incident of care to improve efficiency.  We also propose to establish a hospital ranking system to encourage competition.

To control the rising costs of the health care system, we propose the encouragement of new forms of ownership and of management of hospitals.

Measures, like these we have proposed, have been implemented in many Western countries, including Scandinavian countries, which previously had health care systems similar to ours and have been proven to be effective.  We propose to Quebecers to join with us in giving ourselves the health care system we deserve.

In health care, let's stop going around in circles, let's vote Team Adrien Pouliot - Conservative Party of Quebec.
