Business legend Michael E. Porter, and best-selling author Michael Moss among
key note speakers to address annual health care show
TORONTO, Oct. 28, 2014 /CNW/ - Today, HealthAchieve, the signature conference and trade show of the Ontario Hospital Association and one of the largest shows of its kind in North America announces the line up of speakers who will share ideas on the future of health care. Running from November 3rd to 5th at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, keynote speakers include the father of modern business strategy, Michael E. Porter, and best-selling author of Salt, Sugar, Fat, Michael Moss.
"We're celebrating our 90th anniversary of bringing together the brightest minds from across the globe to shed light on current health care issues," says Warren DiClemente, Chief Operating Officer and Vice President, Educational Services, Ontario Hospital Association. "It's our mission to provide a forum for learning, sharing and evolving ideas of what health care should be in Canada and across the globe."
For the first time at HealthAchieve, attendees will have the opportunity to hear a series of TED fellows including Vijay (Robert) Gupta, world renowned advocate for the redemptive and regenerative power of music and how it can shape mental health; Nina Tandon who co-founded EpiBone, the world's first company growing living human bones for skeletal reconstruction; and Jessica Green on how microbes can make public spaces, buildings and human beings healthier.
Renowned performer, William Close will perform his world-famous Earth Harp, an instrument with strings that can extend 1,000 feet in length. The harp uses architecture and landscape as part of the instrument, and in this case will leverage the vast space at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre to create a memorable performance. Close will perform at various times throughout the course of the show.
The trade show floor will feature more than 300 exhibitors demonstrating the latest in health care innovation. The popular 'New Product Showcase' will highlight the newest innovative health care products available in the marketplace. New to the HealthAchieve trade show floor this year is the mHealth Hub that will act as a social media space. In addition to providing physical space for social media engagement, the mHealth Hub will also feature some of the newest, most innovative apps in the health care space developed by Ontario Hospitals.
