TORONTO, April 17, 2015 /CNW/ - On April 16, 2015, the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA)'s signature event, HealthAchieve, was presented with two prestigious awards during the 18th Annual Canadian Event Industry Awards (CEIA). The CEIA is a national program which recognizes outstanding achievements in Canadian special events.
HealthAchieve was recognized for its progressive annual conference and tradeshow in the categories of "Best Conference" and "Most Innovative Use of Technology". This is the second consecutive win for HealthAchieve as the "Best Conference" in the Canadian event industry and a first time win in the new category of "Most Innovative Use of Technology".
"We are very proud of our event and extremely delighted that it has been recognized by our peers in the industry", said Warren DiClemente, Chief Operating Officer and Vice President, Educational Services, OHA. "HealthAchieve has become the must-attend event for health care business leaders in the industry."
With the innovative use of technology, HealthAchieve is taking its one-of-a-kind experience across the country, bringing health care professionals in other jurisdictions together to learn, share and evolve in the interest of achieving a high-performing heath care system for all Canadians. In 2014, HealthAchieve celebrated its 90th anniversary by expanding its reach beyond Ontario with the introduction of a second satellite location in Halifax, Nova Scotia, which was a sold out event and a resounding success. The first satellite location was introduced in 2013 with HealthAchieve North taking place in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Building on these successes, HealthAchieve will be introducing HealthAchieve West in Edmonton in November 2015.
"The goal each year is to create a truly unique and engaging experience for our attendees and this award certainly acknowledges this achievement," said Anthony Dale, President and CEO, OHA. "We're very excited to be able to offer this world-class event beyond Ontario."
HealthAchieve hosts close to 6,000 attendees, including thousands of health care and business leaders, attracts 300 exhibitors from across the globe showcasing the latest health care innovations, and boasts over 50 educational sessions and 200 speakers. Show participants and exhibitors have praised HealthAchieve as being an excellent opportunity to learn about the latest innovations in health care, to hear from world-class speakers and experts from around the world, and to network with colleagues from Ontario and beyond.
