VANCOUVER, Oct. 9, 2018 /CNW/ - HealthSpace Data Systems Ltd. (the "Company" or "HealthSpace") (CSE: HS) (Frankfurt: 38H) (OTC: HDSLF) is pleased to announce its latest platform: My Health Department (http://myhealthdepartment.com/). This new platform aims to be the first nationwide portal to offer businesses, such as restaurants, the ability to easily connect and manage all things related to the regulatory and compliance nature of government oversight.
This portal is the natural evolution of many years of work on the part of HealthSpace building relationships with Health Departments all across North America. Often agencies work in a one-off scenario to build websites that provide information and online tools to the businesses they regulate. However, this work is often done under tight budget constraints and does not connect all facets of data restaurants or other businesses need.
Further, if a restaurant has locations across multiple jurisdictions, it can have several health departments to report to. This means numerous sets of invoices, permits and various other items to keep up with. Only a handful of health departments offer digital payment services (e.g., credit cards) and even fewer accept these payments online.
My Health Department will streamline this workflow by providing businesses immediate access to information, such as inspections, digitally while allowing them to take action when necessary; from paying licensing fees and fines to taking action on things that might need correcting from the previous inspection. Long term, the platform will serve a host of solutions and tools which foster better relationships between health departments and private businesses.
HealthSpace's CEO, Silas Garrison commented, "We are extremely excited to begin development on this platform and create something truly unique. My Health Department extends our product offerings in a way nothing else has and creates many avenues for generating revenue, from transactional revenue on payments to upselling additional features and benefits in the future. Further, it gives HealthSpace the ability to solidify itself as the bridge between the public and private sectors. We believe better relationships between government entities and private businesses can and should exist, and that is exactly what this portal is intended to bring about."
As development begins, HealthSpace will seek partnerships with health departments to onboard the platform in its early stages. The goal will be to implement it in a few jurisdictions before opening it up for mass distribution. Long term the platform will be open-sourced in order to facilitate true ubiquiti nationally.
