Heart of Chanting - A New Genre of Music Enters its Second Season
TORONTO, Nov. 2 /CNW/ - Heart of Chanting enter their second season, with a concert this Saturday, November 6th, 7 - 9 PM, downtown Toronto, at the Church of the Holy Trinity, just west of the Eaton Centre. Drawing from a demographic similar to that of "Eat, Pray, Love", Heart of Chanting is a unique chanting and musical group in Toronto. Audiences have called the experience of attending these concerts profound and uplifting.
Heart of Chanting features the musical artistry of lead singer, Bart Smit, pianist Laurie Weinberg and violist, Bridget LaMarche, with accompanying musicians and singers.
This powerful musical experience incorporates traditional chants, and original compositions. Through experimentation and improvisation, a Heart of Chanting event recreates an ancient experience with a contemporary twist. At the end of last year's final, inspirational performance, one audience member enthusiastically stated, "They're creating a new genre of music!"
The exceptionally talented and innovative Heart of Chanting singers and musicians seek to foster greater moments of peace and unity. "People need to find ways to get out of the chaos of their minds, and into the peace and serenity of the heart," says lead singer Bart Smit.
Heart of Chanting Concerts are scheduled for Saturdays, 7 - 9 PM, Nov. 6, 2010, Jan. 29, 2011 and May 14, 2011 at the Church of the Holy Trinity, 10 Trinity Square, Toronto.
Admission is by donation. Minimum suggested donation is $10.
