BROSSARD, QC, May 30, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Airmedic wishes to inform the public that beginning June 15 only individuals and organizations that have valid Airmedic coverage can use its helicopter and air medical services.
Individuals and businesses that are not Airmedic members will no longer be eligible for rescue services in the event of a serious medical emergency. Airmedic president Christian Trudeau said that "in making this decision, we are striving to be fairer to our members who subscribe each year. I encourage all Quebecers to visit our website for a better understanding of our services."
Two years after its creation, Airmedic has 76,000 members. Three types of annual coverage are available for individuals ($120), couples ($220), and families (starting at $150). Businesses can obtain service contracts tailored to their specific needs. At present, Quebec has 130 "Airmedic-certified" organizations.
As part of an exclusive partnership agreement, La Capitale General Insurance is the only insurance company offering its clients Airmedic coverage for free or at a preferred rate.
