Henry Kissinger to be interviewed by CNN host Fareed Zakaria
Exploring a New World Order and Leveraging Opportunities
TORONTO, Sept. 23 2014 /CNW/ - Six years after the Great Recession, global recovery remains fragile and escalating geopolitical conflicts threaten stability. In what is sure to be a candid interview with CNN's Fareed Zakaria, and on the heels of his new book "World Order," former U.S. Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger, will provide Toronto Global Forum's participants with unique insights into the increasingly complex global environment that governments and businesses must navigate on October 28.
"Henry Kissinger and Fareed Zakaria are two of the brightest and most thoughtful minds in foreign policy. Collectively their insights will provide valuable perspective for any organization operating in an international context," said Nicholas Rémillard, President and CEO of the Toronto Global Forum. "These individuals complete a very impressive roster of business leaders, politicians, and dignitaries who will gather in Toronto for this major event."
This year, more than 1,800 delegates and 90 speakers from around the world will attend the Forum at the Fairmont Royal York on October 27-28. In-depth discussions and debates around the theme of "Rethinking Growth" will take place among participants. Other keynote speakers include:
- Daniel Doctoroff, President and CEO, Bloomberg
- Donald Kaberuka, President, African Development Bank (ADB)
- Rich Lesser, President and CEO, The Boston Consulting Group (BCG)
- Joe Oliver, Minister of Finance, Canada
- Michael Sabia, President and CEO, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec
- Sophie Vandebroek, Chief Technology Officer, Xerox, and President, Xerox Innovation Group
- Al Monaco, President and CEO, Enbridge Inc.
- Jane Karuku, President, Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa
- Joaquim Levy, Chief Executive Officer, Bradesco Asset Management
This year's event sets the stage for next year's special edition of the Forum, which will be organized prior to the 2015 Pan American and Parapan American Games, the world's third largest international multi-sport Games, after the Olympic Summer Games and the Asian Games.
"By hosting this important business event just prior to the Toronto Pan Am Games, the Forum will benefit from the significant presence of international leaders in Toronto for the Games. We expect the increased participation of Heads of State, renowned economic thinkers and CEOs of many of the world's largest corporations for what will be the pre-eminent dialogue of its kind in Canada," concluded Nicholas Rémillard.
