Hershey Canada Introduces Lancaster Soft Caramels

Classic Caramels Re-Imagined for Today with Soft, Smooth Texture and Rich Taste

MISSISSAUGA, ON, May 7, 2015 /CNW/ - Hershey Canada today announced the introduction of Lancaster Soft Caramels available at retailers nationwide. A contemporary take on the best of classic caramels, Canadians can enjoy the new caramel in two flavours – Soft Caramel and Soft Caramel and Vanilla Swirls.   

Canadians looking for a throwback to the past and a new caramel experience will find just that in Lancaster Soft Caramels. The caramels are carefully crafted to ensure a rich, creamy and authentic taste experience. The new brand is rooted in Hershey's heritage and is inspired by Milton Hershey's original confection company, The Lancaster Caramel Company. Today Lancaster Caramels are made in Canada from imported and domestic ingredients.

Lancaster Soft Caramels offer a long-lasting and unique taste experience that is distinct from the typical caramels in the market today. They also deliver the flavour combination of Vanilla and Caramel that appeal to modern traditionalists.

Lancaster Soft Caramels were inspired by similar caramels that company founder, Milton Hershey, made more than 120 years ago in his original candy company located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. As Mr. Hershey's first successful candy company, The Lancaster Caramel Company established his reputation in the confectionery industry and provided the foundation for the launch of The Hershey Company which first produced sweet chocolate as a coating for the caramels before creating the iconic Hershey's Milk Chocolate bar.

Lancaster Soft Caramels are widely available at grocery, mass, drug and convenience retail channels across Canada and will be offered in 130g bags.
