Holiday Season at Pointe-à-Callière

MONTREAL, Dec. 23, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - During the holiday season, families visiting Pointe-à-Callière will definitely have a lot to keep them busy! 

Pirates or Privateers?
Pointe-à-Callière is seeking curious and courageous young people who are ready to embark on an adventure! In the Pirates or Privateers? exhibition room, famous Montréal privateer Pierre Le Moyne d'Iberville will greet young visitors by asking them to enlist to join his crew. D'Iberville invites these young candidates to learn about life aboard a period ship and see if they've got what it takes to be a privateer. The interactive and immersive experience allows them to test their sense of initiative, team spirit, and physical and intellectual abilities… There are many challenges to be met: finding your sea legs, turning the capstan to raise anchor, correctly arming a cannon, and even pretending to defend the territory by attacking an enemy ship!

Who is the real Santa Claus?
Children are also invited to come meet St. Nicholas, Befana, Lucy, and Santa Claus. While visiting the Museum's archaeological remains, children will encounter these four Christmas characters who will explain how the holidays are celebrated in their parts of the world. Embark on a delightful world tour of holiday traditions!

The Pirates or Privateers? exhibition and the Who is the real Santa Claus? activity are included in the price of admission to the Museum. 

The Museum will be open:
Christmas Eve (December 24, 2013) and New Year's Eve (December 31, 2013)
December 26, 2013 (from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.) 

The Museum will be closed:
Mondays, December 23 and 30, 2013
Christmas Day (December 25, 2013) and New Year's Day (January 1st, 2014)
