TORONTO, Dec. 17, 2012 /CNW/ - Christmas is fast approaching and the festive spirit is already in full swing at Toronto Pearson. Guests travelling through the airport over the next two weeks will be treated to many exciting initiatives that will make their experience at Toronto Pearson even more enjoyable.
"We are pleased once again this holiday season to focus on delighting our passengers travelling at this busy time of year," said Howard Eng, President and CEO of the GTAA. "Every passenger that comes through our doors is important to us and we want them to have the best airport experience possible. We have holiday music, storytellers and helpful airport staff throughout our terminals to ensure that passengers can begin their holiday at the airport."
The award winning Tweet a Carol program is coming back to the airport this year. Anyone with family or friends arriving at or departing from Toronto Pearson between 3:00-8:00pm on December 15 through 23 and between 6:00-11:00am on December 24 can send a tweet to @torontopearson with the first name, last initial, flight number and date of travel and our carollers will greet them with a holiday song.
Mrs. Claus and Santa will be making their way through Toronto Pearson's terminals reading stories to children waiting for their flights and spreading Christmas cheer. Between December 15 and 24, families who have cleared security and are waiting in the gate areas can enjoy some relaxing Christmas stories before they board their flights.
Guests travelling on December 20 and 21 will be greeted at the airport's doors by airport employees participating in the Ambassador Program. These volunteers will be located throughout both terminals welcoming guests with some holiday treats as they arrive at the airport.
This year, Toronto Pearson will be offering gift wrapping stations throughout the terminals for those looking to arrive at their destination with their gifts ready to go under the Christmas tree. Between December 17 and 23, this service will be offered in both terminals from 1:00-8:00pm and from 9:00am-1:00pm on December 24. Passengers who have purchased gifts in the terminals will be treated to free gift wrapping at the kiosks.
Another perk for passengers this year is for those entering the Terminal 1 or 3 Daily Park Garages between December 20 and 26. Those passengers will receive a 25 per cent discount on their parking rate when they present the coupon available on torontopearson.com.
