HOME TRUST BECOMES THE FIRST SUBSCRIBER TO CANADA POST'S PIN CARD SERVICES
SOLUTION
Home Trust chip-enabled credit cardholders now able to manage their PINs at local post offices
TORONTO, Nov. 16 /CNW/ - Home Trust Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Home Capital Group Inc. (TSX: HCG), and Canada Post today announced that Home Trust chip-enabled credit card customers can now manage their Personal Identification Numbers (PINs), free of charge, at most post offices across the country. Home Trust is the first credit card issuer in Canada to subscribe to the secure, innovative, face-to-face PIN Card Services solution from Canada Post.
Chip-enabled credit cards provide greater protection of cardholder information and include enhanced security features. Most financial institutions that issue credit cards handle PIN management at their ATMs. In the absence of its own ATM infrastructure, Home Trust has chosen Canada Post's PIN Card Services solution to provide greater convenience to its customers.
The Canada Post PIN Card Services solution was developed in close conjunction with Home Trust's processor, FIS, one of the world's largest providers of banking and payments technology.
"Home Trust is proud to be the first credit card issuer to subscribe to Canada Post's innovative PIN Card Services solution. We believe this unique solution provides our customers with the flexibility, security and convenience to properly manage their PINs in person at most post offices throughout the country," commented Gerald M. Soloway, Chief Executive Officer of Home Trust.
"Introducing PIN Card Services throughout our retail network is part of our commitment to offer customers value-added services at their local post office," says Mary Traversy, Senior Vice-President, Transaction Mail at Canada Post. "We have the largest network in the country, which makes managing PINs easiest for Home Trust credit card customers."
