MARKHAM, ON, March 1, 2017 /CNW/ - Combined February sales of 11,622 units by the Honda and Acura divisions of Honda Canada Inc. represented a 21% increase over last year's sales. The Honda Automobile Division reported February sales of 10,409 units, up 22% over last year, outpacing the competition for the month. The Acura Division reported February sales of 1,213 units, up 17% over last year.
"Coming off of a modest start to 2017, the Honda brand gained traction in February with remarkable monthly sales," said Dave Gardner, Senior Vice President of Operations, Honda Canada Inc. "Record-breaking HR-V and CR-V sales drove the February sales spike, accompanied by strong consumer support for the Civic hatchback, the newest member of the versatile Civic family."
"An award-winning product line-up paired with a competitive suite of market offers, pushed Acura sales to strong double-digit gains in February, as the brand celebrated its 30th anniversary in Canada," added Gardner.
February Highlights:
- With an increase of 101% over last year, the Honda HR-V topped a monthly record with 982 units sold versus the previous best February in 2016 with 489 units sold
- Honda CR-V set a February record on sales of 3,240 units sold over February 2012 with 2,836 units sold
- For the eighth consecutive month, Acura RDX set a monthly sales record with 454 units sold versus the previous best February in 2015 with 406 units sold
