Honda Canada and Forests Ontario Plant for a Healthier Ecosystem
Honda Canada supports forest restoration efforts across Canada
TORONTO, June 8, 2015 /CNW/ - Forests Ontario is proud to continue our partnership with Honda Canada in support of healthy forests across Canada. Throughout 2015, Forests Ontario and Honda Canada will host tree plantings in multiple communities, re-greening landscapes from Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia to Surrey, British Columbia.
We encourage volunteers of all backgrounds and levels of experience to join us in our efforts to foster a healthier ecosystem for their community and for all of Canada. Volunteers are asked to bring a shovel, water bottle, gardening gloves, and lots of energy.
Honda Canada supports the efforts of Forest Recovery Canada (FRC), a national tree planting program of Forests Ontario, through the "One Honda One Tree" campaign, which pledges to plant a tree for every Honda lawn or garden product sold between April 1st-July 31st annually.
Three plantings will take place in June, with a planting in Surrey to follow in October.

Through support of FRC, Honda Canada has supported the planting of more than 18,000 trees, including in areas impacted by the Emerald Ash Borer and where forest cover has declined significantly. Forest fragmentation throughout Canada has contributed to an unstable ecosystem resulting in habitat loss and increased vulnerability to the effects of climate change. Restoring the health of our forests is vital to a future of healthy and prosperous communities.
