Lucky supporter presented with keys to a brand new 2014 Honda Civic
MARKHAM, ON, Dec. 23, 2013 /CNW/ - In support of the 47th Annual CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish, Honda Canada and Ontario Honda dealers have delivered more than three thousand toys that will soon be wrapped and given to children across the Greater Toronto Area. The toy drive began on November 18th and involved the participation of 77 Ontario Honda dealers.
Ontario residents were asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy to their local Honda dealer. In return for their generous donations, each received a ballot making them eligible to win a new car. One lucky winner from 1,018 ballots was randomly selected during this morning's CP24 Breakfast broadcast. Larissa Foreman, from St. Catharines, will be cruising into 2014 in an all-new red 2014 Civic Sedan EX.
"The CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish brings joy to children and families in need and Honda Canada couldn't be happier to be a part of this important cause," said Jerry Chenkin, President and CEO of Honda Canada. "We'd like to thank our customers and associates for their generous donations, as well as the continued involvement of Honda dealers across the province. This is what holiday giving is all about."
Honda Civic is Canada's best-selling passenger car for 15 years running. Honda associates in Alliston, Ontario have built more than 3.6 million Civics since 1988. Since 1973, 1.7 million Canadians have chosen Civic as their car.

About CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish
The CP24/CHUM CHRISTMAS WISH was originally established in 1966 as a charitable foundation called CHUM's Kid's Crusade Foundation, for the purpose of assisting children in need, and children's charities. In 1973, the name was changed to The CHUM Charitable Foundation in order to broaden the scope of the foundation's work, including the increase in requests for financial assistance from adults in need. At that time, the holiday portion of the program was called the CHUM Christmas Wish. In 2008 the evolution was complete. The CP24/CHUM CHRISTMAS WISH will continue to bring the magic of the holidays to those in need in 2009, and for many years to come!
