Ridgeline breaks 2006 sales record
Honda Civic widens gap in passenger car sales
MARKHAM, ON, Sept. 1, 2016 /CNW/ - Honda Canada today reported an increase of 3% in August, on sales of 17,828 units by the Honda and Acura divisions combined. The Honda Automobile Division reported August sales of 15,764 units, up 2% over last year. The Acura Division reported August sales of 2,064 units, up 15% over last year.
"Both Honda and Acura August sales were carried by our diverse truck offering across the line-up, as the all-new versatile Ridgeline showed great reaction from the market in its first full month of sales and the bold new 2017 MDX delighted luxury customers across the country," said Dave Gardner, Senior Vice President of Operations, Honda Canada Inc. "The Honda Civic widened its gap as the leader in passenger car sales."
"As expected, MDX supply stabilized and Acura sales returned to more typical summer levels, surpassing year-over-year results for the first time since March," added Gardner.
August Highlights:
- Honda CR-V topped its best August ever with 4,774 units sold versus the previous best August in 2015 with 3,351 units sold
