MARKHAM, ON, Feb. 1, 2018 /CNW/ - Honda Canada Inc. today reported total January sales of 13,105 Honda and Acura vehicles, an increase of 29 percent over last year and a new record for the month. The Honda Automobile Division reported January sales of 12,007 units, up 32 percent over last year, also posting record January sales. The Acura Division reported January sales of 1,098 units, up 5 percent over last year.
"Coming off the heels of record annual sales for the fourth consecutive year, the Honda brand continues to dominate key segments with record-setting sales in January," said Jean Marc Leclerc, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Honda Canada Inc. "We intend to build on our success of last year by remaining focused on delivering a complete lineup of quality and value-oriented vehicles to a wide variety of Canadians."
"Launching later this year in Canada, the 2019 Acura RDX Prototype made its world debut at the 2018 North American International Auto Show, providing a first look at the bold new design, advanced technology and luxury features of the five-passenger SUV," added Leclerc.
January Highlights:
- Honda HR-V topped a monthly sales record with 862 units sold versus the previous best in 2017 with 850 units sold
- Honda CR-V set a January record on sales of 3,770 units sold versus the previous best in 2017 with 2,851 units sold
- Honda Pilot had its best January with 565 sales vs the previous best in 2016 with 506 units sold
- Acura RDX set a monthly sales record with 473 units sold versus the previous best in 2017 with 455 units sold
