Honda Canada reports February sales results
TORONTO, March 2 /CNW/ - Combined February sales of 8,917 units by the Honda and Acura divisions represented a 27% increase over last year. The Honda Automobile Division reported February sales of 8,059 units, up 33% from last year. The Acura Division reported February sales of 858 units, down 13% from last year.
"We are pleased to see the Canadian market gradually improving," said Jerry Chenkin, executive vice president of Honda Canada Inc. "Canadians have been responding positively to our 'Winter Warm-Up' campaign, which has helped produce a record month for CR-V sales and a significant increase in Civic sales. With signs that the Canadian economy is in recovery, we're looking forward to a positive spring sales season with the kick-off this month of our 'Score A Honda' campaign."
Honda Canada Inc. has sold more than 3,300,000 Honda and Acura passenger cars and light-duty trucks in Canada over the past 37 years. A record high 91 per cent of the Honda and Acura vehicles sold in Canada in 2009 were produced at the company's assembly plants in North America, up nearly 3 per cent from 2008. In addition, 52 per cent of all Honda and Acura vehicles sold in Canada last year were built at the two Honda of Canada Mfg. plants in Alliston, Ontario.
