- Honda Civic continues to lead as the best-selling car in Canada
- Fit and HR-V sales continue sharp decline due to flooding at Celaya, Mexico plant
- Acura RDX reaches best-ever annual sales in eleven months
MARKHAM, ON, Dec. 3, 2018 /CNW/ - Honda Canada Inc. today reported November sales of 13,542 Honda and Acura vehicles, down 11.8 percent from the previous year. The Honda Automobile Division reported November sales of 11,977 units sold, down 10.2 percent from the previous year. Acura Division reported November sales of 1,565 units, down 22.4 percent versus last year.
"While Honda brand sales are consistent with year-to-date sales, limited inventory of Fit and HR-Vs, due to the flooding that occurred in our Celaya, Mexico plant earlier this summer, continues to have a significant impact on monthly sales in the final quarter of the year," said Jean Marc Leclerc, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Honda Canada Inc. "We're thrilled that production is now back online and we look forward to fulfilling pent up consumer demand in early 2019."
"We celebrated a big milestone in November as the red-hot RDX recorded its best-ever annual sales with one month remaining in the year," said Emile Korkor, Senior Manager and Brand Leader of Acura Canada. "We're going to build off the enthusiasm the RDX has injected into the Acura brand which is on pace to achieve consistent year-over-year sales gains."
