MARKHAM, ON, Sept. 5, 2017 /CNW/ - Honda Canada Inc.'s core models pushed the company to achieve its best August sales since 2007, up 3% over last year with 18,351 units sold. The Honda Automobile division reported August sales of 16,719 units, up 6% over last year, also breaking a 10-year-old August record. The Acura Division reported August sales of 1,632 units, down 21% versus last year.
"Our success story in recent months has been attributed to the strength of our light truck line-up, but August was a departure from that trend, as core models for Honda, including Civic, Accord and Odyssey, pushed the brand to achieve its best August since 2007," said Jean Marc Leclerc, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Honda Canada Inc. "We are redefining the Honda Accord for a new generation of buyers by bringing something unexpected that challenges the idea of what a mainstream sedan can be and we're excited to introduce the all-new Accord to customers this fall."
