Honesty Counts: Patrick Brown poised for 1st ballot win

Campaign has identified almost 45,000 supporters

BRAMPTON, ON, April 8, 2015 /CNW/ - The Patrick Brown Leadership Campaign today commented on its ongoing voter identification efforts, saying it has identified enough supporters across the province to produce a first-ballot victory for Brown.

"We have now identified almost 45,000 eligible supporters for Patrick Brown and they are distributed across Ontario in every one of 107 ridings," said Robert Stanley, Campaign Manager.  "We are well-positioned for a first ballot win."

On March 27, 2015, PC Party of Ontario released its initial list of members eligible to vote in the leadership election.  Since then, the campaign has focused on a province-wide Voter Identification and "Get Out the Vote" effort that has so far identified almost 4,500 additional Patrick Brown supporters – beyond the 40,410 memberships sold by the campaign as of February 28, 2015.  These additional voters come from among those who were members before the leadership contest began and those who have switched their support to Brown from other candidates.

A geographic analysis of the Party's membership data, combined with the campaign's proprietary data, show Brown's support is distributed throughout all 107 ridings of Ontario in numbers sufficient to produce a first ballot win for Brown.

"Our hard work doesn't stop here, though," said Stanley.  "It will ultimately come down to who can get out their vote.  We have a strong team in place, with hundreds of volunteers across the province. We had the people to sell the memberships, we'll have people to get out the vote."

Patrick Brown continues travelling across the province, meeting with members – no matter whom they support – and listening to their ideas on how to improve the Party and the province.  His objective remains building a vibrant, active Party of 100,000 members from every walk of life and every corner of the province – the Party that will form the next government of Ontario.
