Honoré Mercier Bridge - Complete closure of Ramp 3 - Monday, November 15 from
4 AM to Noon
LONGUEUIL, QC, Nov. 11 /CNW Telbec/ - The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) and the Ministère des Transports du Québec (MTQ) wish to announce the complete closure of Ramp 3 towards Châteauguay, Monday, November 15th, 2010 from 4 AM to noon. Therefore, we encourage you to avoid this area whenever possible.
Indeed, southbound traffic will be very heavy because, in addition to the Ramp 3 closure, there will only be one single lane available on Ramp 2 which will have to be used concurrently by motorists driving both towards La Prairie AND Châteauguay. For motorists driving towards Châteauguay, they will then use the detour road located at the end of Ramp 2 (the same detour that was used in the preceding phase) to return towards Châteauguay.
Also note that the width of the lane in this direction will be reduced to 3.1 metres. Trucks that exceed this width must use another bridge.
This work could be postponed due to unfavourable weather conditions.
Note that this closure is required in order to make a paving correction before winter. The other works of Ramp 2 are progressing nicely and Phase I will be finished in two weeks. Phase II (Ramp 2 towards Montreal) will resume next spring.
