Horwath Vows to Deliver Government that Makes Sense for Ontario

TORONTO, May 7, 2014 /CNW/ - Ontario NDP Leader Andrea Horwath kicked off the official start of the 2014 election campaign at the Ontario Legislature this morning. Before boarding her campaign bus wrapped in New Democrat orange, Ontario NDP Leader Andrea Horwath addressed a crowd of supporters.

"Since I was elected to serve here 10 years ago, I've worked hard to deliver results for Ontarians," said Horwath. "Together we can steer Ontario in the right direction. We can create good jobs, cut health care wait times and build a better Ontario for families who are feeling squeezed."

The NDP Leader made it clear that people across the province must come first.  Instead of shipping jobs away, Horwath said we should reward the real job creators with smart investments. Instead of hiking the pay of hospital CEOs Horwath said we should support nurses and frontline care workers in the ER. Instead of dumping cheap power in the US, Horwath said we should bring down the sky-high hydro bills of Ontario families.

"I've worked hard to show people that we don't have to accept business-as-usual at Queen's Park," said Horwath. "I've been listening to what you've been telling New Democrats this spring: it's time for a real change at Queen's Park. It's time for government that makes sense."
