Hotel-Dieu Grace's Kim Spirou Named Communicator of the Year

TORONTO , Nov. 17 /CNW/ - Kim Spirou, Vice-President of Communications and Development at Hotel-Dieu Grace Hospital in Windsor, was recognized by her peers yesterday as the Ontario Hospital Association's (OHA) "Communicator of the Year." The award was presented at the Community Affairs and Communications Network Session at the OHA's HealthAchieve 2009 conference.

"Kim is an exemplary example of a public affairs and communications specialist," stated the OHA's Vice-President of Policy and Public Affairs, Anthony Dale .

Kim's dedication to transparency has allowed her to forge strong relationships with the media and community stakeholders. She is a fixture in her community, serving on numerous boards and committees including the Arts Council of Windsor Regional, the Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Windsor International Film Festival, and the Windsor and Essex County Hospitals Foundation Board among many more.

She has received the "Business Professional of the Year" award from the Chamber of Commerce and the YMCA awarded her with the community's first ever PEACE Prize for her work in building peace, goodwill and understanding locally and globally.
