NEW YORK, Feb. 8, 2018 /CNW/ -- The Paris hotel that has nurtured leaders in the arts, philosophy, science and politics for the past century will soon reopen, offering perks only to guests who book their stay through advisors of leading global luxury travel network Virtuoso®. - Welcome amenity of wine and cheese
- Wi-Fi
Opened in 1910, Hotel Lutetia remains the only palace hotel on the Left Bank of Paris. Located in the bohemian St. Germain neighborhood among galleries, boutiques and nightlife, the Art Nouveau icon is moments away from Le Bon Marché, the world's first department store. During the 1930s, Hotel Lutetia became the epicenter of the city's intellectual, cultural and artistic life, with visitors such as James Joyce and Ernest Hemingway, and residents including Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse.
"Hotel Lutetia is a unique monument to history and culture in a city famed for both qualities," said Albert Herrera, Virtuoso's senior vice president of Global Product Partnerships. "The extensive refurbishment of this beautiful legend will enhance its spirit and charm, and usher it into a new era of serving 21st-century travelers while remaining true to the authentic soul of the Left Bank. Even in a city with many wonderful luxury hotel options, Hotel Lutetia's elegant blend of heritage and modernity will make it a true standout."
The renovation will honor the building's storied past while adding contemporary flair and innovative design. Of the 184 rooms, fully one-quarter will be suites, including seven individually designed suites and a penthouse. True to the hotel's creative history, curated art and photography will decorate each room.
The refreshed Hotel Lutetia will feature a variety of eating and drinking establishments. A favorite among locals and visitors alike, the Lutetia Brasserie will feature 180 seats split across two levels. A new internal courtyard adjacent to the famed Salon St. Germain will offer light dining for up to 40 guests in an airy setting adorned with plants. Those looking for a night out will enjoy the spectacular Jazz Bar Aristide, and a Cigar Bar with a private club atmosphere. The Akasha spa, extending over 7,500 square feet, will provide a holistic approach to wellbeing, fitness and relaxation together with a 57-foot indoor pool.
Hotel Lutetia is the latest luxury property to debut with assistance from the esteemed Virtuoso Preview program, which offers benefits only available to clients of network travel advisors. Preview is part of Virtuoso's renowned Hotels & Resorts Program, which includes more than 1,200 of the globe's finest properties in over 100 countries.
