REGINA, Sept. 24, 2013 /CNW/ - Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, today celebrated the official opening of its new Regina office with guests including employees of both Huawei Canada and SaskTel. The new office will serve as the sales and support hub for Huawei in the province of Saskatchewan, and will play a key role in supporting Huawei's relationship with SaskTel.
"We are extremely proud of our partnership with SaskTel," says Huawei Canada President Sean Yang. "The opening of our office today symbolizes the value we place in this relationship, and represents an important next step in our ongoing commitment to SaskTel and the Province of Saskatchewan."
In recognition of the office opening, Sean Yang presented SaskTel President, Ron Styles with the first SaskTel Huawei Ascend Y300 smartphone. The smartphone will officially go on sale at SaskTel stores across the province on September 27th.
"When we started working with SaskTel in 2009, the company challenged us to deliver communications solutions that would make the Province of Saskatchewan competitive with the most technologically advanced regions of the world," says Mr. Yang. "Since that time, we've supported the deployment of 4G and LTE wireless technologies.
