Huawei Debuts Software Innovations at 2013 Mobile World Congress
AirSharing cloud solution creates a seamless world of communications
BARCELONA, Spain, Feb. 27, 2013 /CNW/ - Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, showcased its multi-screen software solution, AirSharing, at the 2013 Mobile World Congress (MWC). Huawei's AirSharing connects a range of devices including smartphones, tablets and home appliances and seamlessly integrates content, functionality and control across technologies through Huawei's wireless cloud. Available through Huawei's Emotion UI*, AirSharing further demonstrates Huawei's commitment to developing innovative software that provides convenient and enriched experiences for people around the world.
The AirSharing solution supports a series of powerful functions, such as projecting content and photos from a mobile phone for instant viewing via television, including remote sharing as well as sharing the gaming experience seamlessly from smartphones, to tablets or television monitors. AirSharing can also be used in a business setting, allowing people the freedom to leave behind their notebook PCs, and use files via their smartphones to project content onto a monitor through a Wi-Fi connection.
"Airsharing is our latest software innovation which, together with our proprietary Emotion UI, is a way to differentiate ourselves and offer an easy-to-use solution for our customers," said Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group. "In the near future, we also plan to open AirSharing to third-party content providers and developers to further build on this multi-platform to benefit customers even more through a smart, integrated world."
Through third-party content providers and licensed developers, AirSharing aims to provide more interactive and richer content in videos and music so as to be a high-quality, multi-media source for the Huawei user.
AirSharing is activated on Huawei's Emotion UI, which is currently preinstalled on selected Huawei smartphones and tablets including HUAWEI Ascend P2, D2 and Mate. Huawei's Emotion UI runs on Android 4.1. Emotion UI improves usability and provides a simple navigational experience for users which can be easily customized to suit their personal needs. Its UniHome function combines home panels with the main menu, while Huawei's patent-pending Me Widget better utilizes screen real-estate by combining all the information and functions you need in a single, customizable widget. Emotion UI provides a rich pool of personalized themes for download; while themed wallpapers bring users a more vivid visual experience with interactive and fun transitional animations that can be changed by simply shaking the phone. Facial identification has also been added to the original range of screen locks to enhance security and uniqueness of each user experience.
Emotion UI includes a smartphone housekeeper function to support real-time data traffic tracking, automatic blacklisting and blocking, periodical system cleaning, and spontaneous exiting of idle programs and cache cleanup, in addition to anti-virus, energy saving, privacy protection, software management, and more.
