MONTRÉAL, Dec. 22, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - L. Jacques Ménard, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Montréal International (MI), is pleased to announce the appointment of Hubert Bolduc as President and CEO of Montréal International effective January 11, 2016.
"We are extremely pleased to welcome Mr. Bolduc as President and CEO of Montréal International, an organization whose mission is to promote Greater Montréal's economic development and enhance the region's international reach and reputation," said Mr. Ménard. "Mr. Bolduc's extensive knowledge of how the government and business community work, combined with his experience in attracting foreign investment will be a major asset to our organization's mission," he added.
Mr. Bolduc was chosen through a strict selection process by a committee chaired by Jean Laurin, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Montréal International and President and CEO of NKF Devencore. The committee, which included other members of MI's Board, relied on the expertise of Nathalie Francisci, partner at executive search firm Odgers Berndtson.
"We welcome Mr. Bolduc's appointment as President and CEO of an organization that is key to our region. To achieve economic growth, Montréal needs to make a name for itself on the world stage and position itself as the destination of choice for foreign investment in North America," said Denis Coderre, Mayor of Montréal and President of the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal.
Holder of a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Université du Québec à Montréal, a Master's degree in Communications from Stirling University in Scotland, and an MBA from HEC Montréal, Mr. Bolduc has held the positions of Deputy Secretary General, Government Communications, Ministère du Conseil exécutif; Vice President, Communications and Public Affairs at Cascades; and Advisor to the Québec Premier. For the past two years, Mr. Bolduc has been working as an international affairs manager for Investissement Québec.
"I am thrilled to join such a dedicated and experienced team. Greater Montréal is doing well as a global player, but if we want to create more wealth, we must attract more foreign investment, international organizations and strategic talents to our region. And that's what my team and I will be focusing on over the coming years," said Mr. Bolduc.
Actively involved in the business community for many years now, Mr. Bolduc has served as Chairman of the Board of Jour de la Terre and Chairman of the Board of Manufacturiers et Exportateurs du Québec, and Vice Chairman of the Board of the Fondation de l'Entrepreneurship du Québec.
He has been presented with the Prix Reconnaissance award by Université du Québec à Montréal and the Prix Relève d'excellence by the Réseau HEC Montréal.
