Hudak's Energy Dance: 2 Positions in 3 Days
QUEEN'S PARK, Nov. 23 /CNW/ - The National Post reported this weekend that Tim Hudak and the Conservatives opposed the McGuinty government's investment in clean energy and would campaign to repeal measures that are bringing international investment and new clean-technology jobs to Ontario.
But in today's edition, Hudak demanded a correction which shows the Conservatives don't really have a clue when it comes to energy policy:
- "Ontario Conservative leader Tim Hudak has expressed strong opposition to the province's feed-in-tariff incentives for alternative energy generation, but has not explicitly vowed to repeal the legislation if elected. An article Saturday in Financial Post miscast Mr. Hudak's position." (National Post - November 22, 2010)
While Hudak claims to express "strong opposition" to clean energy, he apparently isn't strong enough to pledge to repeal it.
Hudak's clean energy back-flip comes hot on the heels of his admission this past Friday that he won't campaign to repeal the HST, despite months spent claiming he'd scrap it.
In what's become a recurring pattern, Tim Hudak is once again refusing to tell Ontarians what he really believes. If he believes in anything.
