Humber River Hospital receives best possible Accreditation Canada survey decision: Accreditation with Exemplary Standing!
Hospital CEO says result proves team is dedicated to high quality, safe, respectful care for patients and families.
TORONTO, March 27, 2014 /CNW/ - Accreditation Canada has announced its decision resulting from their latest Accreditation survey at Toronto's Humber River Hospital: Accreditation with Exemplary Standing. Accreditation with Exemplary Standing is the highest possible Award that can be obtained under the Accreditation Canada survey process for Canadian hospitals.
An independent, not-for-profit organization, Accreditation Canada is the national body charged with evaluating healthcare organizations across Canada, including hospitals, against more than 2,000 comprehensive standards for quality and safety. The hospital scored 98.3%, with a 100% compliance score for all Required Organizational Practices.
In part, the decision letter from Accreditation Canada Vice-President Bernadette MacDonald reads: "This achievement demonstrates your organization's determination and commitment to ongoing quality improvement. We applaud your leadership, staff, physicians and accreditation team members for their efforts and dedication to the provision of safe, quality health services."
Humber River Hospital President & CEO Dr. Rueben Devlin remarked that "this result is yet another external, expert confirmation that the Humber River Hospital team is delivering high quality, safe, respectful care for our patients and families. At our survey debriefing the lead surveyor, Andrew Williams, spoke of the Humber team's 'passion and commitment to quality and to doing what is right for patients'. That's our goal every day, for every patient, and our team works very hard to accomplish that constantly."
