Hydro One executives visit Geraldton, Ontario
-Delegation to address local electricity needs-
GERALDTON, ON, Nov. 8, 2016 /CNW/ - Yesterday, Mayo Schmidt along with key members of Hydro One's executive team and local field operations visited Geraldton in the Municipality of Greenstone to meet with local elected officials, the business community including the growing mining industry and members of the local First Nations and residents about local electricity infrastructure needs.
Meetings, at the invitation of Geraldton Mayor Renald Beaulieu, Minister of Energy, Glenn Thibeault and Minister of Northern Development and Mines, Michael Gravelle were productive and focused on local economic development and the establishment of a stronger working relationship with the Municipality of Greenstone.
"My job is to make sure that our impact on customers is a positive one; that we listen to and work with the local businesses and political leadership towards ensuring your electrical system continues to meet the needs of your community," said Mayo Schmidt at the Geraldton District Chamber of Commerce.
Minister of Energy Glenn Thibeault remarked, "It's great that Hydro One was able to join us to work with local leaders and businesses towards a stronger, more reliable electricity system in Greenstone. Bringing key stakeholders and communities together is essential in our government's commitment to the Northern Ontario economy."
