Hydro One expects 54,500 customers will remain without power overnight
-Power restored to over 46,100 today-
TORONTO, Nov. 6, 2015 /CNW/ - Hydro One confirms it has now restored power to more than 46,100 customers following today's windstorm, which caused extensive damage to its distribution system across southwestern and central Ontario.
Approximately, 54,500 customers in the hardest hit areas will remain without power overnight.
"We have all available resources working to restore power to customers but advise those that remain without power to consider making alternate arrangements for the night," said Jon Rebick, Vice President, Lines and Forestry, Hydro One. "We thank Ottawa River Power, PowerStream, Canadian Niagara Power, Veridian Connections, Hydro One Brampton and Greater Sudbury Power for assisting with our restoration efforts."
At present, there are 503 incidents affecting over 66,000 customers. Areas with over 1,000 customers are listed below:

What to do in a power outage
If the power system in your area is affected by bad weather, be sure to stay clear of any fallen power lines. If you spot a fallen line, keep at least 10 metres back, even if it does not appear to be live. Report it to the police and call Hydro One at 1-800-434-1235.
